A Curtis Correll was accused of fraud, False/misleading statements, gross negligence, and willful departure from trade statements, by the AGs office in California. In reading the accusation, it is consistent with my experience with this shop and the Curtis Correll there.
I had a very negative experience. Curtis Correll, in my opinion, inflated the invoice, completed unnecessary and unauthorized work, and refused to release the car until his additional demands for money were met.

After leaving, I googled Curtis Correll (person that I interacted with) and learned that a Curtis Correll was accused of fraud, false or misleading statements, gross negligence, willful departure from trade standards, in an accusation filed in California associated with either management or ownership of a garage. I am unsure of the disposition of that action.
My experience, in my opinion, is consist with a fraud, false or misleading statements, and willful departure from trade standards.

l took my car to Surprise care car for a blown head gasket and an issue with my #5 cylinder after l spoke to Chris Holsinger who said it would cost around $3500 if no other problems. Well after the heads were redone came the added cost like $500 for gasket set then a water pump which was agreed to, then came an issue with the block inserts need to be re inserted at his office he said that would cost another $1000 so after l thought it over and researched it and found three machine shops that would do the inserts for under $425 l came back in the next day and told Chris Holsinger that l could only go has high as $4900 total and gave him the information on the three machine shops he called me the next day and he said ok and three weeks later l get a call my car is done. Chris Holsinger says it cost another $700 but would only charge half, when l come for my car he states my car needed a fuel pump which he installed at no charge i try to pay the $4900 we agreed too and he says its $5300 l said no he says l have your key so instead of arguing all night l pay it and leave on my bill he puts he put a used fuel pump that cost $319 at no charge but l paid $5300 to have engine rebuilt and he put back my old spark plus which for 6 would of cost under$100 makes sense "right", but he never called me to tell me about a bad fuel pump. So two days later l received a text from the owner Mike asking how my car is and l text him my car check light is on and l will bring it back and that l just had it scanned and it comes back AGAIN as po305 #5 cylinder. Chris tells me he will check it out that day he calls and tells me the #5 fuel injector is bad and for that and new plus it will cost just under $1000 but l say no and pick up my car. They don't fix the issue from the start put used spark plugs back they say your car needed a part and without calling you they say they installed that part free of charge "RIGHT". IF YOU NEED REPAIRS DONE STAY AWAY FROM SURPRISE AUTO CARE THIS "CHRIS HOLSINGER IS A LAIR AND SAY HE WILL SAY HE ADDED PARTS AND HE REALLY DIDN'T.

Repeat business is not their priority.....

This company was told it would not shift properly, and I requested that they ins a complete clutch kit. The assumption would be that if it still did not shift properly, they would alert me to the additional repair that was needed and tell me what other charges might be needed to correct the shifting issue. They called when the clutch was installed and said the vehicle was ready for pickup... Obviously, it was not ready, and now they want me to bring it in to be diagnosed, for another charge, plus the potential repair charge...... NOT smart business tactics!

I will find another shop todo my occasional repairs, that I feel is looking out for me, and not playing strategic service games!
