The call was placed at 4:57 PM (with her AAA card in hand). At first AAA/driver said he was at her location five minutes after her call. But they then updated it to 5:50. Google says the drive time is 22 minutes as I type this. At 6:10, no one had shown up. After texting the daughter a few times I called AAA at 6:24. The call center had no idea when someone would get to her or help. Mind you it wasn't very cold, no snow, not a work day. It was only raining. The AAA call center said the tech was dispatched from "Riverside Inc."
At 6:41, I told my daughter we would go to her. I grabbed some tools and off we went. It took about a half to get to her. Still no Riverside AAA (nor any other tech from AAA).
I got out her jack and compact spare. I jacked it up (scissor jack) and swapped the tires. I also checked the air pressure (40 psi and spec is 60 psi). We left the call spot (175 West Haviland Ln. Stamford), just before 8:00. AAA/Riverside never arrived. BTW, it was raining the whole time and became heavier in the final 20 minutes.
Why are we paying for the AAA service?
