STAY AWAY FROM ADDONS
They make you purchase addons for the car by saying- may be a false practices, like your APR will be increased if we dont take policy addons as this will provide banks more security and peace of mind.

Its a nightmare to cancel the hyundai addon policies as they are the only one can cancel it.

Alert - Reed might not honor hyundai 3 day worry free exchange policy.

Additional notes - Reed made me to register the car then treated as a tradein (gave full price of the car, Thanks!) which we will end up paying all dealership and documentation fee twice.

Super knowledgeable and helpful sales person
I was assisted by Javon Williams when I visited Reed to test drive a Santa Fe. Javon is very knowledgeable about Hyundai vehicles he was able answer all my questions and went above and beyond looking for cargo net The Santa Fe. I really like my Santa Fe, thanks Javon for all the assistance.

Vehicle damaged while in Reed care.
My Stepdaughters 2013 Hyundai was towed into Reed Hyundai in Merriam with a faulty engine 6 weeks ago and while waiting for an engine replacement the steering column and ignition was damaged because their employee left it unlocked . The service manager has yet to return 2 messages that I left with my phone number . Today 7/23/24 I talked to Keenan the General manager about their responsibility of the vehicle on their lot and he told me they have no responsibility for anything.
I also talked to McCarthy Hyundai of Olathe, Ks and was informed that they do take care of their customers if ANYTHING happens to a customers vehicle while in their care.
So there you have it, McCarthy Hyundai of Olathe if you want customer service with care.

Can't get work done when promised
My check engine light went on. Brought car in to get it checked and they told me I need an appt to get it checked. Appts are a week out, and I wanted to know if the car was safe to drive. They worked me in. Needed a new part which they said would take a week to get in. And said it is ok to drive short distances. So I made an appointment for the work while I was going to be out of town. My appt was for Thursday. I dropped car off on Wednesday before and told them I would pick up upon my return the following Tuesday. Went in today to pick it up only to be told that it was "in progress." I said I have a lot of errands to do and need transportation today so asked them for a loaner. They said that all loaners are out for customers who are getting their engines rebuilt. Hyundai must make bad engines or maybe they actually only have 1 loaner. In any case, service manager I talked with was pleasant but she could do nothing. I said they could get me something from Enterprise. Reed Hyundai does not work with Enterprise. This is the 2nd time in my 2 months since I bought the car that I have heard this excuse. The customer service at Reed Hyundai is horrible. There is no excuse for not having the car done when you had all of this extra time to do it. And get yourselves some more loaners!

Low oil issues
I started loosing oil (not leaking) took it into get oil change was told the oil was almost completely out he changed the oil and was told to check it often three weeks later checked the oil due to check engine coming on which is why in the first place I took it in I was a quart low googled why low power and loosing oil stated it could be the OVC valve had that replaced nothing changed I think I had to put another quart in took my car into a different person he checked it and even put on the machine for problems we were having couldn’t find anything he changed the oil since the I have put at different times three quarts in it got on line and my car and year was in a suit for the engines being bad called and spoke to Felix the manager and he requested records and registration I sent that to him now after several emails and messages left still no response very frustrating will be going up the chain

Unacceptable Customer Service - Family Owns Three Vehicles Purchased Here and We are Somehow Their Last Priority
My family has been a loyal customer to this dealership for over a decade. We own three vehicles purchased here. They have failed their loyal customers for over two months now, with almost $2,000 in out of pocket expenses in counting. A family that once thought they would only buy cars here for the rest of their lives will now never be back.

At the beginning of September we took the Sonata in for an engine check. Sure enough it was a part of the recall, totaled upon inspection, and set to get a new engine "by the end of the month." It is now the end of October with no engine in sight.

It took them two weeks at the start to get our family a rental car to replace the Sonata. We were frustrated, but waited the time we needed to and came up with our own solutions. They then gave us a $400 a week credit to rent a car. In Septemebr 2022, that doesn't cover a weekly rental. Not to mention the fact it fails to cover the Enterprise extension fees we are having to pay out of pocket every time they run us around about when the engine will be done. We are at an almost $2,000 out of pocket bill because of the snails pace this service center works at.

In the last weeks of October, they still cannot tell us when the engine will be put in a car they have had in their shop for over two months. A call at the beginning of the week reveals their lead technician still has us at FIFTH IN LINE. Again this is three weeks past their quoted date with out of pocket rental expenses throughout this whole time. When we finally aired our frustrations, the technician told us we would be first in line this week with a car done by Monday. Of course, they have fallen through on that promise as well. They now tell us we may still not have the car by the end of the week. More out of pocket expenses in route now, and, did I mention, a lovely 18 MONTH reimbursement policy. They have effectively drained my family of months of income with no remorse.

Don't put your car in service here, don't trust a thing they say, don't buy a car here. We are done.

Service department problems
Very poor service. Went in because my oil level was very low in my 2022 Santa Fe which I leased Dec.23 2021 and it had 5003 miles on it. I also received complimentary maintenance for 3 years. They changed my oil and serviced my car in Feb. 2023. Told me it would not need serviced until I reached over 13,000 miles. I took a road trip on Oct 30 2022 about a 400 mile trip. Car was telling me I was low on fluids so had someone check it out plus asked them to also check my oil. They told me I was low on oil. Mind you I had only put 3336 miles on my car since the last oil change. Made me wonder if they had even serviced my car in Feb. Made it home from my trip called Reed Hyunadi for an appointment, told them my oil was low and washer fluid was low.. They told me I did not have enough miles on my car for an oil change, and I said I needed to have it checked out. They gave me an appointment for the following day. Went in to the service department signed it then went to the waiting area. A young man came to get me and told me I was not eligible for an oil change because my car did not have enough miles on it to be eligible. I would have to pay for it. I informed them I was not going to pay for it and they needed to check out my car on why I was using so much oil to find out the problem. They then proceed to call a service man up to check my oil. I asked to be there when he checked it. He informed them my oil was extremely low and was unsafe to drive my car. Needless to say they serviced my car!! (I think)
They finish my car and I drive home. When I get home I realize they did not give me my paper work on what was serviced or done to my vehicle. I called them back and went out the next day to pick up my paper work. To me it was not complete. I asked why this service department paper was different then the one from my first oil change and did not have how many quarts of oil they used etc. They said well your vehicle uses 6 quarts of oil, so when we change your oil you get 6 quarts. That must not be true because on my first oil change you did you only put in 5. The man at the counter informed that was wrong they made a mistake and that was why my oil was probably low!!
Not happy with Reed Hyundai!!!

I hate to say but my experience was unacceptable
I was told I had to wait 2 weeks just for a diagnosis. Okay, I thought, it sucks but I'll get a rental as they had none available. Paid out of pocket for a car for 2 weeks. When they finally called they said they "couldn't find an issue", charged me for the tow and " service" and told me to pick up my car. The next day the same problem presented. I took it back, waited another few days, some "fixes" we're performed and I was told to pick up my car again. Third time now, same problem presented. They currently have my car and communication has been terrible. I am not one to be confrontational but I rely on my car for work, and I made them aware of this too. So it's causes me a lot of stress in general.

Exceptional Service
I couldn't be happier with my visit to Reed Hyundai last week. This was my first time needing service for the 2022 Tucson Hybrid Limited I purchased from Reed back in the fall, but I'm very impressed with the overall quality and care exhibited by everyone during my visit. Even though it wasn't originally planned when I scheduled the 5k mile maintenance, I really appreciate how they were able to quickly accommodate my later request to also order and install mud flaps during this visit. I highly recommend going to Reed for all your Hyundai/Genesis needs.

I arrived at the service department for maintenance on my Genesis and was expecting a loaner car as promised when the appointment was made. I was told there was no loaner available due to an error in communication between Reed employees. I had a very important appointment and now no means to get there except cancel the appointment on my vehicle. Then a Reed employee named Angela took charge and spoke to all parties involved and management to get me a loaner to turn around a disastrous incident and renewed my faith in customer service at Reed Hyundai/Genesis. Angela you are truly an angel to the rescue.

Recall work takes forever
Waited over 8 months for recall work. Their design issue caused it to smoke & some vehicles to catch fire. Very little communication & when I got the vehicle back after being there for over 3 months, it was not washed & the oil was still all over the motor. Was told it would burn off eventually instead of cleaning it properly.
