My wife took her car there after being hit by another driver. The car was drivable when it was delivered to carstar. They disassembled car to a point to assess the damage and repairs costs. The insurance company totaled the vehicle. We wanted to ‘buy’ the car back to have it repaired at a different shop since this shop does not repair totaled cars. Carstar refused to return the car back to us in the condition it was given to them. We contacted two other repair shops and both said they would not repair a car that was disassembled. The other shops also stated they would return a car in the cont received. So in a nutshell, they held the car hostage so we had no other recourse but to total the car with no option to repair it! We went in to get the last of our possessions from the car. We complained about not being able to get the car repaired and told them we would review our experience accordingly. Only then they offered to put the car back together if we signed a waiver. My wife asked them repeatedly to do this and they said they would not. It took a threat of a poor review to get what we asked repeated for.
