I moved to the area 3 yrs ago and was in need of a good local autocare service place where I could take my car too.
Mechanics have always been thieves in my eyes throughout the cars of owning many different cars.
I needed tires and went to melvins the manager gave me a good deal on tires also through in 20% off for being new to the area. As time went on I went back for different services for my camaro because I don't trust anyone on my baby. They are awesome the staff is always polite and working with Chris has been great. I would tell anyone if your looking for a new place give them a try you won't regret it.My husband also brings his Dodge Ram there for service too. Thanks guys for taking care of my most treasured thing.

They took great care of me.
Brought my wife’s car in because back tire was falling apart. They discovered the other rear tire was failing also.
They got me right in and out of there in no time.
My first time there and they treated me like family. I live in Ct. and the drive there is about an hour away but I won’t go anywhere else from now on!

Excellent management!
I have been a customer of this tire shop for several years now, receiving the best service I have ever got in New England.
Snow tires put on and one was left unsealed. When the indicator light came on to say low tire, it turned out the computer set the wrong tires to the indicator. So I kept putting air in the wrong tire until I could drive back to Melvin's. Very Dangerous. Next, try to reverse the process months later, they left my car sitting for hours and could not figure out if the brakes were checked or not or if the tires had been changed back yet. Person answering the phone could not get an answer after 3 times calling. 6 hours for a brake check and a snow tire swap out? Bye. This was my go to for 10 years with my personal and work vehicle.

problems after that were not before
Have been here several times in the past only because my mother swears by this place.......prior service was good, This time not so......brought in my Ram 1500 for balls joints, rear springs and front struts........got it back with the engine light on....P1457 code......Fuel Vac line.....steering wheel wont lock.....and a horrible ticking when slowing down, related to the Ecoboost system operating in auto .......brought it back....altho the entire staff is very pleasant.......had no clue how to fix.....really not happy that none of these problems i now have existed before i brought it in.......

Friendly and Professional Service
Really nice crew at Melvin's fast and Professional Service and they saved me some money too I'll be there again
The reason I returned to the Johnston location was the management and staff. In November 22, the weather prediction was for snow. Keeping with Murphy's Law, I had a tire going flat . AAA could find a nail and we suspected a bad seal or leaking valve stem.
I called the dealership and two or three of Melvin's competitors. All said that they were either too busy, no appointments available, etc. The dealership said they would make me an appointment for service in a week. This was an emergency and the temporary spares are unsafe in snow. In a last effort I called Melvin's in Johnston, talked to Anthony and told him what I was up against. He worked with my work schedule, made an appointment, and the tire was repaired. It was a nail and, in less than an hour, I was on my way home.
When my wife's car needed an inspection, and new tires, I took it to the Johnston store. Great service from management and the technicians that worked on the vehicle. Good tires at a reasonable price. Keep up the good work, you have a loyal customer.
