Diagnostic Evaluation of System
I very much appreciate the work of the tech who serviced my vehicle! I am confident in the work he performed and the assessment he made about my vehicle. He was professional and respectful during the drive to my workplace (so he could then take the vehicle back to the shop) and reserved any opinions based on my verbal statements, preferring to make a professional opinion based on what he could see. He also installed the he wiper blades that I had purchased elsewhere and not installed yet. However, the office lady was disappointing. She opted not to call me when my vehicle was done, instead sending me a text that my vehicle was “ready for pick up” even though she knew I would need someone to pick me up, and even though it was primarily a diagnostic evaluation, so I was expecting a call to convey the findings. When I called to find out what was going on she said there were “a variety of recalls” I asked if she would have a print out of those and she said “oh yes, I’ll have a print out of everything.” We arranged for the guy to pick me up after he returned from lunch at 1:30, but when he never arrived by 2 pm, and I did they a response from the cal or text, I had to reach out to a personal contact to get me from work to the service location to collect my vehicle. When I got to the service center, the office lady said “I got slammed into an unexpected meeting right after lunch and wasn’t able to notify the tech or do anything” when I asked for the print out about the recalls she said “oh, there were like 80 I wasn’t going to print out all that.” I questioned “eighty recalls for the Kia forte lx 2015?” She confirmed this. I am on top of my vehicle maintenance and knew of the singular manufacturer-issued recall/replacement, so her statement was contrary to my information. I called the nearest Kia Service Center, in GI, to make an appointment as per the recommendations from the tech. The Kia Service center looked into the recalls/replacements from the manufacture and confirmed that it was the anti-theft ignition device that I was already aware of. All to say, the office lady was not seeming to be in the right disposition to be helpful, considerate, or compassionate on this particular Wednesday interaction.
