Overpriced...Rips off Vulnerable People
My first mistake was taking it back AFTER they ripped me off for replacing a starter on my sons 2004 vehicle. They charged me over $800 to replace the starter and had it at the shop for a week. My parents mechanic told me that should have been a 1 hour job for $450.
My sons car then proceeded to have random "Check Engine" light come on so I figured I'd let a professional look at it. J4 just happened to call me back before the other shops did so I took the car in there. It was a simple diagnostic check - which I guess I could have done myself by taking it to Autozone or O'Reilly's Auto Store. Literally, all these people did was check the fluids and run the code reader. They said it took 2.5 hours and charged me $229! Oh, I'm sorry because my late husband died from his military service connected disability, the knocked off 29 dollars. I was FLOORED. I couldn't believe how much they charged for NOTHING! THEY DID NOTHING! Said I could use new spark plugs and a tune up but can't guarantee that would help the check engine light issue - it's just an older car. Literally. That's what came from it. I could have done this myself. Mistakes made but I really didn't think much of it as it was just supposed to be a simple code running.
Do not recommend. I don't even know how they keep a business with their prices and lies. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on ME. Literally any other mechanic in town would be better. Unless you are their family or "special" customers.

Liar and thief
I specified that I wanted oil pressure sensor and sensor filter replaced. He told my wife they detected an engine knock and they could get a used engine installed for $13,000. Even she knew this was high and completely wrong. Picked up car, no knock, I have been a professional mechanic just didn't have time to do the 45 minute job I sent my wife there for. $130.00 bill for no talent, greedy, misdiagnosis.

Fix one thing...break another!!!
I don't go there anymore. Vehicle will for weeks,. You go in for one thing to get repaired and then something else breaks immediately after picking up your vehicle. Go at your own risk!!!

DO NOT TRUST THIS MECHANIC!!!!!
If I could give it less stars I would. This “business” took a week to “fix” my water pump, now 4 days later my dashboard lit up and I’m stuck in Hutchinson Kansas, and I had to take it to a dealership to actually fix my water pump. I’ve seen more competent mechanics in the highschool auto class. When we tried to talk to the owners husband he hung up on us, multiple times. I would rather walk than take any car to j4 automotive again.

Took a while
Brought it in for an oil leak said the oil change was done wrong so they basically just did an oil change and swapped the battery for me then had my car for 2 weeks and charged me 700 for the whole ordeal

BEST AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR I ever dealt with
I DON'T KNOW what these folks did to my car. It sit for exactly five years, I had it towed there because he was the only one where you talk to the owner, provide you with very detailed list of everything needed and done to it. I looked long and hard too here in Helena for a garage with a good reputation. Replaced a few things, change the oil, drain the tank, new filter etc,: I been out of state three times this summer and it purs like a kitten. I think just clearing the onboard computer of 20 years of data did something because it literally like brand new with a 170k on it. The owner came and got me at my house the next morning; gave me a little discount after hearing my pitiful story. I can't say enough good stuff about them. PS As a paralegal I checked BBB, local, state and federal court records... Narry a bad word anywhere...
