Buying experience
I decided to put a second review in because my first one was extra harsh . I complained about some things that I wouldn't of . Like small stuff in the interior and little rust on the rims that I could rub out with some hard elbow grease . I was just mad because I was led to believe otherwise . Then they didn't tell me about the idiot lights they obviously cleared out . But their selling used cars I still just don't appreciate the extra shadyness

Not happy with my experience
I purchased a used vehicle from them . Was told it was certified by them went through an inspection 172 point I believe can't remember exactly . They showed me a receipt for 4 tires and rims for $3600 . I looked at the tires and they were new and saw that the drivers rim was brand new the rest were looking good from appearance so I left it at that . But the other 3 were original rims . Just polished up but the crevices had rust in them . They put large rubber mats on the floor they were all fine but the drivers side is held down by large snaps . Under it had rips & tears but not too big a deal there . Drove it off the lot and found out had a misfire on cylinder #4 . The abs light came on traction control control and airbag light came on. Now the transmission is acting up try to accelerate and it just shutters . So I'm very unhappy with my purchase . I would of gotten alot more for less money if I just went with a personal buyer

Poorly and selfishly run dealership!
I purchased a vehicle from Hawk Mazda in the beginning of February 2022. I was told by my salesman, Jerry, that I would be given $500 off for owning a Mazda, even though he knew neither I nor a family member owned one previously. After signing the loan agreement, I realized that the $500 discount was not applied. I reached out to Jerry and both managers, Brian and Ricky, and they delayed the process for weeks, constantly telling me that if I leave them all 10’s on their survey that they’d give me my $500. I even had to take off from work to drive back to the dealership from Chicago, which was an hour and a half drive, to speak with them in person. I did their surveys and they still claimed that they didn’t receive it. Brian gave me a WRONG number to call to follow up on the status of the survey, further delaying the process. It is now almost mid-May, and this dealership is ignoring my calls and voicemails for weeks. It is so poorly and selfishly run, that they only prioritize their profits and not the wellbeing and happiness of the customers. 0/10 recommend this dealership, especially Jerry as a salesman.

Great car…horrible dealership
First of all I want to say how much I love mazdas. This is in no way “buyers remorse”. I have wanted a Mazda for years, I just did not want to be ripped off when buying one. The men at Hawk Mazda are a deceptive bunch to say the least. I bought a 2021 mazda 3 select (which is a trim level above the base model). The advertised price was $23,275. (I have a screenshot of the exact vehicle advertised on their website). I sit down with the salesman Ernie and he writes up a draft of the numbers. It all seemed fine and so I went ahead into the finance department. I signed the paperwork and left with my new car. When I got home and looked over the contract my stomach dropped. The cash price for the vehicle on the contract was $27,200. Thinking that was a bit much [it is] I started looking at other dealerships and no Mazda 3 select package comes even remotely close to that price. Then I see on the contract $1,400 for a “mazda vsa”. Since the dealership had zero answers for me for three days about the extra $4,000 that was tacked onto my vehicle I decided to call mazda directly to inquire about this $1,400 mazda vsa. It turns out that this dealership (without telling me and without my consent) purchased me an extended warranty. I bought a brand new car with a warranty. I would have NEVER bought an extended warranty nor do I need one. So after three days of getting the run around from this dealership I was finally told that the extra $4,000 was for a “protective coating” that they put on my car for dings and scratches. How in the world they can tack on $4,000 for something as RIDICULOUS as that without telling a customer is beyond me. I’m sorry but for $4,000 I want my car to levitate to protect against dings. If you want a Mazda I would go elsewhere. They are beautiful cars but it is not a good experience to be railroaded by a bunch of hustlers. The amount of work I have to do for that money is sickening. We are all not fortunate enough to sit and swindle people out of $4,000. Stay away from Hawk Mazda or ANY Hawk dealership for that matter. I financed $28,000 and put down $4,000. I am in $32,000 deep for a mazda sedan a trim level above a base model. I know that these people respond to negative reviews so let me be clear. These people are liars and have not helped me one bit. If anybody would like to see my contract on my new overpriced car I will gladly show them. So do not believe any nice response.
