When my engine light came on, they were there to let me know they would take care of it. Turns out it was an emissions issue and sure enough it was fixed, and I was happy.
Efficient tuneup and straightforward informative communication. The car needed brake service and they got parts and finished the job in a very timely manner.
I have had two great experiences with Good News. Each time they provided an explanation to what was happening and what I can expect to be done. When a part needed to be ordered they were able to prioritize my car needs once the part came back in.
Good News does not always have “good news” since car repairs are always $$$. BUT their tuneups and repairs are expertly done. All questions on need for repairs are answered with explanation of costs. Some items are put on a “watch list” so I know what work might be upcoming. All the small details get attention in addition to “big ticket.” Satisfied w 10+ years of service.
They let me know that I need a new muffler system, but provided both a temporary, cheaper solution and a permanent, more expensive solution. I chose the permanent one and the car now runs and sounds much better. They also let me know other things wrong with the car that I didn't need to fix. They are always so trustworthy!
Good News kept my 2005 Volvo S40 in good shape for 19 years. One year ago, I transitioned to a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek, and naturally entrusted it to Good News for service. Excellent service - I love the place. John L.
I'm a new customer to Good News Garage, they have serviced my car three times. Excellent customer service! They do want is needed and explain what is not yet needed, something I have not experienced from other garages. I highly recommend Good News Garage!
I can’t say enough great things about Good News Garage. I’ve been bringing my cars here for years, and they’ve consistently delivered top-notch service, fair pricing, and honest advice. Most recently, my AC unit gave out during a heat wave, and they got me in immediately. Within just a few hours, it was blowing ice cold again—absolute lifesaver!
Casey is always such a pleasure to deal with—friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. And it’s always great catching up with Craig and Ryan. Their knowledge and expertise are second to none, and they’re always forthcoming with honest, straightforward information. You never feel like you’re being talked into something you don’t need—just solid work from people you trust.
Bottom line: they do easily the best work in the area, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my vehicles. Five stars, every time.
I’ve just about run out of superlatives for Good News. Suffice it to say that they are really awesome and make it so easy for me to bring my car in, even though I live on the north shore and no longer work in Cambridge.
Casey and Craig are always so nice to deal with, and the mechanics are all great too.
They diagnosed the check engine light issue and will order the part to fix it. We agreed that an oil change and tire rotation was not needed this time.
The fee for diagnosis was $170 (kind of expensive) and they gave me a list of things that might need attention soon.
Good News has been servicing my Honda Fit since I bought it used almost four years ago. I trust their advice and have found them accommodating and helpful, as well, when the unexpected happens.
