German Auto Tech was started over 50 years ago in West Memphis, Arkansas by Dietmar Streider who had worked in the Volkswagen factory in Germany as a mechanic. He started the original German Auto Tech in 1970.

Realizing that customers also needed European auto repair he retooled his shop to accommodate more makes and models. Wanted to support local but ended up with more problems than I came in with....
I came in with a check engine light on my 2023 Volvo XC90, knew it was an O2 sensor. They performed diagnostics and I was told they identified the correct sensor. I was also informed that I would be needing new back brakes & rotors within the next few months. So I chose to go ahead and get them replaced.
Well, after 4 visits to German Auto Tech (they had my vehicle for almost 2 weeks)
my car's check engine light was still in along with a lit up Christmas tree look to my dashboard of all the various lights that were now present. Extremely long story short, my car had to be towed to the Volvo dealership in Memphis to fix what German Auto Tech could not fix along with what they did not do correctly when fixing my brakes (the technician didn't put it in service mode when they went to repair it.) All along the way, I had to call when my car was in their shop to get updates. Then since getting it fixed properly at the dealership, getting reimbursed has been another issue! This was my first and LAST experience at German Auto Tech.
If you choose to use them, approach with caution!

They always do a great job I've not been disappointed yet. They've work on Fancy several times we had some up and downs but they always have done us right.
