FI Manager was deceitful
We currently purchased a 2024 Santa Cruz from Fred Beans Hyundai in Flemington. This is our 4th Hyundai car. The purchase portion went smoothly. However, when we began dealing with the FI manager Jason Medler, the process went south. The main problem was his deceitfulness in discussing the 3 levels of the Platinum warranty. After a brief discussion, we told him we are only interested with the Basic Platinum warranty in which he informed us it is only an additional $1,500 ($20/month) to the purchase price. During the e-signing of the contract, we’ve asked for the printout of the contract and he said he couldn’t at the moment and that he would email it to us. The day later, we got a copy of the contract via email, and we found out that the warranty price went somehow from $1,500 to $4,000, which includes a $1,000 finance change over the life of the loan. When we called him, he tried to justify the $4,000 by stating “This is because the warranty is 120 months long so it will be $20 times 120 months, that’s how the $4,000 came from”. (Doing quick Math, $20 times 120 months is only $2,400). We finally had enough of his nonsense, we asked to remove the warranty and have the contract re-written and he stated he can’t because the transaction is in a pending status. To add insult to injury, he said he didn’t have to re-write the contract, instead he will just change the number of payments from 72 payments to 65 payments which still doesn’t add up mathematically because the payment amount is based on the total of purchase price of the car. We had to go back again to the dealership in person and make him cancel the original contract and re-write a new one. This is the most exhausting experience dealing with purchasing a car in my life. I’m sharing this so that others can steer clear of Jason Medler.

They cheated with me by replacing my original company fitted tires with cheap tires. Avoid this dealership at all coat and their salesman Fredie. They take no responsibility for what they have done.

Although my service representative was courteous and helpful and pleasant to work with I found the wait for my car to be longer than expected. Either they overbook or double book appointments which causes a longer wait period. Also accommodations could have been better. I had to ask if they had fresh coffee. If they are going to have refreshments for people waiting it should be filled at all times.

Thank you for leaving us the 5 star review. Unfortunately with the pandemic and everything else going on in the world, prices have risen drastically for just about everything. The price of gas has nearly doubled within a year and is going up almost on a daily basis now. Which translates to higher manufacturing and transportation costs. We are actively trying to keep our price as reasonable during these times. Keep in mind your local mechanic may not be using OEM components and the mechanics are not factory certified from Hyundai. Unnecessary Recommendation to replace a filter in the engine that has only 8000 miles. Manufacture does not recommend the filter to be changed until there is 35,000 to 45,000 miles on the vehicle.

We would like to reach out to you to discuss your experience further.

After reviewing your comments, I believe there may be some confusion. For example, Hyundai recommends inspecting your engine air filter every 7,500 miles for replacement. Yes, Hyundai recommends replacing (if you have not done so yet prior to reaching the mileage) at 22,500 and again at 45,000 but that item is inspected every 7,500 miles for replacement. I also noticed that your engine air filter has never been replaced at our location. When Hyundai warranty replaces an engine, the engine air filter is not included in that process. The engine air filter is considered a maintenance item and is the responsibility of the customer. After reviewing your Multipoint inspection from when the engine was replaced it does not appear that your vehicle needed an engine air filter replacement when your engine was replaced approx 5,000 miles ago. 
I do appoligize for the HVAC issues you may have been experiencing in our service department during your visit. We are currently undergoing a massive renovation. We do have signs posted appoligizing about the construction and I personally appoligize for the inconveniece it may have caused you during your visit.
