Dishonest Mechanics
Went to get my car inspected. The mechanic told me that my vehicle had a bad ball joint, and my headlamps were pointing down too far. They could fix the ball joint for $1500 and adjust my headlamps for $60. I declined the service and went to another mechanic to verify the issues stated. I paid another $20 for a new inspection. Funny enough the mechanic had no issues with my vehicle. I explained that it was just rejected at the Smoketown Exxon. I was shown that there was no play in the ball joint. Even further, the ball joint was relatively new. Furthermore, unless they have a headlight tester (which they don't) you can't really justify failing headlamps unless they do not work. My head lamps have been the same for years and have never had issues from an inspection. BOTTOM LINE: These people are trying to rip you off by saying you need service that you really don't. If you don't verify what these mechanics say, you will be lied to and will pay your hard-earned money to people that lack honor. Take your car elsewhere. Don't be fooled by these dishonest mechanics!!
