Bad Business Practices
Beware before using DFW Mobile Mechanics. Had a straight forward conversation with David and Ash concerning getting keys recoded. They quoted me $150 diagnostic fee to clear a fault. If they could clear fault, they could recode the keys. If not, would be additional charges depending upon what needed to be fixed. Paid the $150, they showed up, cleared the fault, then charged me an additional $200 for the recoding of the keys. Total time spent from arrival was 20 minutes. Nowhere in my two prior conversations with them did they tell me it would be an additional $200 for coding the keys. Normally, I would say that's just poor business practice on their part, but in this case, I believe I was ripped off.

To clarify, our diagnostic fee covers the initial fault diagnosis and clearing the fault, as discussed. Additional charges, such as the $200 for key recoding, reflect the specialized labor and tools required for that procedure. We apologize if this was not clearly communicated during our prior conversations, as that is never our intention.
