They damaged my coolant tank and then blamed me.

I took my car to this auto shop after my car over heated. they wanted to charge me $2400 to replace my radiator which seems like a lot. when I got my car back they had punctured my coolant tank and it was leaking. When i asked them about it they accused me of doing it and refused to look at it. not very trustworthy

Took my 1500 eco diesel ram in to get my alignment, struts, both front axles and breaks done. I had issues after those were fixed and had to come back in and get my front differential replaced. Paid over $6.8k out of pocket to get everything fixed. 4 months later I hear a loud pop and my alignment is out of wack. Brought it back to Danny’s auto and Cory quoted me $3000 telling me my entire alignment is out and I need the entire thing replaced. I was frustrated because they had previously worked on my front end and now they were asking me to pay an additional $3k. At this point I wanted to get a second opinion and they ensured me that any other mechanic would back up their diagnosis and my truck was safe to drive. So I took my truck into Cleggs auto in American fork. Here is the diagnostic from Cleggs: RESULT:

Upon inspection i found that the driver front upper ball joint has almost fallen out of the control arm this is very unsafe and the control arm must be replaced, I also found that the passenger inner tie rod has play and must be replaced, These repairs must be done before a alignment is performed.

DO NOT DRIVE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE!

The mechanic at Cleggs told me I was lucky my truck made it into their parking lot because the ball joint was so bad. He specifically said that they don’t see them get this bad and it was very rare.

I was out the door with $822 complete fix compared to $3k that Cory quoted me for Danny’s.

Called Cory at Danny’s auto and he said yeah our mechanic totally missed that and they thought there were “other” issues with my alignment so that’s why the cost was so high. I told them that this could have resulted in a serious accident and this is serious negligence on their part. They had nothing to say and told me they couldn’t do anything for me at this point.

I don’t write reviews but I felt this would be merited in hopes that it helps someone else who may be in a similar situation and to get a 2nd opinion before taking your car here. Makes me wonder about the $6k I’ve paid for previous repairs and if those were legitimate. Either way I hold myself in accountability for not doing my due diligence prior to taking my truck to Danny auto. In my personal opinion the folks at Danny’s auto are careless, negligent and someone is likely to get seriously hurt or worse due to incompetence.

Cannot trust them

Couldn't fix problem with my vehicle. So Danny's inspected it without my permission stated I had several problems that needed to be fixed right away. Dead battery for one and it's only a year old. Several other issues that did not exist. Very disappointed in them.

Dishonest untrustworthy rude receptionist no customer service skills

Here is my experience at Denny’s auto and why I will never trust them with another one of my cars nor will I refer anyone to them. So just like any normal day my check Engine light comes on and my car starts jerking. Took my car to auto zone to check why the check engine light was on and what code the reader gave me. It ended up being my throttle position sensor. I take it to Denny’s auto they replaced the throttle sensor which after maintenance and part was above $400 dollars after talking to Renee the main girl who works customer service calls me and tells me my car is done and even compliments my car that it’s in amazing shape and nothing else was wrong with it. After replacing the throttle sensor was changed the traction control light went off and my car stopped jerking. Two days later my car is making super weird sounds and starts jerking again. Not only that I am sitting in my car and all the sudden my car starts smoking I get out antifreeze everywhere. So I take it back to Denny’s auto and after they look at it again I now needed a new computer a new radiator fan and a control valve they claimed they had nothing to do with that but the first conversation I had with Renee she blew smoke up my ass telling me my car was in amazing shape and nothing was wrong with it. So they denied they did anything wrong with my car but they are the only mechanic shop I have had taken my car. So I obviously end up paying for a new computer, Radiator fan, and a control valve which after came to about $1300 dollars. So after returning my car to me the second time, I am on my way home my traction control light comes on and my car then starts jerking again. And they still denied they didn’t do anything to my car but remember they are the only mechanic shop that has touched it. So bringing it back the third time they call me two days later and tell me I now need an entire brand new transmission. But remember at first when Renee said my car was in amazing shape. They are liars they destroyed my car they are only out to get your money Denny’s auto is by far the worst mechanic shop I’ve ever had my car serviced. Again I do not recommend anyone taking their car there also that Renee girl has the worst customer service attitude it’s beyond snotty has no people skills.

Dishonest, untrustworthy, poor customer service

I’ve brought my car in three different times in one month. Every time I picked my car up my car had more issues leaving the shop then it did going in. This shop destroyed my car and does not want to do the right thing and take responsibility. How does a car leave a mechanic shop with more problems then it did going in? Dishonest untrustworthy mechanic shop.

WARNING! READ BEFORE YOU GO HERE

WARNING: I brought my civic in for a brake inspection and they said I needed a replacement of the front brakes and work on the back brakes. Being the good consumer I am, I ALWAYS get a second opinion and took it Jiffy Lubes in South Jordan (the full service one) - NOTHING was wrong with my brakes, it was just brake dust and Jiffy Lube was HONEST enough to tell me that. Denny's tried to charge me $700 for FAKE WORK. WARNING - before you just say yes to Denny's get a 2nd or 3rd quote before you pay these SCAMMER "mechanics".

BEWARE!!!! ALL THESE POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FAKE!!!!

My girlfriends car died and we had to tow it somewhere after hours. We saw good reviews for Denny's so we towed it there feeling pretty good about what we read. I'm not a mechanic but easily diagnosed it with a dead alternator. The tow company jumped the car and also diagnosed it with a bad alternator before we took it to Denny's. Unfortunately, it was late and all shops were closed so we couldn't shop around. I left a note saying that the car had a bad alternator along with the keys in their drop box and took off. The next morning. I get a call from Denny's saying, of course, that the alternator was bad.. They charged $70 for the diagnosis alone!!! They said it took a half an hour to diagnose a bad alternator which took me only 30 seconds to realize!!!! THEY ARE THIEVES. Then they told me that the part alone was $250 (overpriced by about $70) and the work would be an additional $160 or so totaling over $500 (including the diagnostic and taxes) to change the alternator. Before we committed to have them work on it, I shopped around and nearly every shop was $100 cheaper or more, but by this time, I would have had to have the car towed to another shop! They knew there was very little we could do about what they were charging us so reluctantly, we committed to overpaying these thieves because we needed the car back! On top of all this, they said we needed an oil change ,which was true, but they attempted to charge us $45 for a basic oil change and didn't even consider trying to discount the oil change or anything... . How are these people still in business???!!! SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND MONEY AND DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

TUNE-UP

I HAVE 06' DODGE RAM 1500, NEW THAT IT NEED'D NEW PLUGS, WAS ADVISED AT THE SHOP BY THE OWNER TO GET THE CHEMICAL FLUSH FOR THE ENGINE, FOR AN ADDITIONAL $200.00 , I AGREED. WELL AFTER 4 FULL TANKS OF GAS LATER ALL I GOT IN IMPROVED GAS MILEAGE IS 1/2 OF A MPG..FROM 13-4 MPG TO 13.8 MPG. I WAS TOLD AND SOLD ON THE UNDERSTANDING THAT I SHOULD EXPECT 2+ MPG.S FOR THIS SERVICE. WELL THAT DID;NT OCCUR, TO BAD THIS SERVICE DID'NT COME W/ A WARRANTY. THAT WAS $200.00 OF HARD EARNED MONEY NOT WELL SPENT, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE, THIS IS SOMETHING YOU THINK ONLY HAPPENS AT THE DEALERSHIP, NOT A LOCALLY FAMILY OWNED SHOP..UNHAPPY TO SAY THE LEAST..

Excellent employees who care about doing a good job.

After reading positive reviews about Denny's Auto, I decided to give them a chance. I am SO glad I did. First of all, their employees care about doing a good job. From a friendly, helpful receptionist to knowledgeable technicians, I was very impressed. Other factors that impressed me were fair pricing, honest technicians and a follow-up call. I am now a huge fan of Denny's Auto and recommend this place to everyone!

This garage is horrible the receptions is very rude they had my truck for over three plus weeks and I ended up towing it to another garage to be repaired . all this after thetly tried tomake me pay for a part that wasn't installed and wanted to charge me 400.00 for a new fuel line DONT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE unless you want to be ripped off.
