Once in a jam, but now I am free.
For 2 years I was trapped in a parking garage with a dead battery with an expired registration. The AAA tow truck operator, Elliot, was understanding, cordial and efficient.
The service I received in the AAA garage was commendable, efficient and friendly. I was astonished when I received a washed car, cleaned inside and out. Pep Boys, watch out!

Exceptional Auto Center
Every staff member I have encountered has gone above board to help and do a great job...... from the front desk, to all of the mechanics.
And all of it with tremendous courtesy and friendliness.
This is one of the best auto places I have ever gone to and I am over eighty years old!!

Better than expected
My starter stopped working and I needed my car towed to a mechanic who is conveniently located. Other than the price which was a little higher than what another garage might charge, the repair was done quickly and correctly. Garage staff even gave my car a cleaning which I appreciated.

Amazing Experience
After a bit of an ordeal with the car battery dying and needing AAA, finally by happenstance we ended up with someone from 54th Street Auto Center coming to tow the car back to the shop. The experience was nothing but pleasant from first interaction through the final pick-up. They were clear and concise and made time to talk through all the options and really made us feel like valued customers, even on the first visit. I will definitely be using them for all my car needs moving forward.

Total Incompetence or fraud
After breaking down on west side hwy, got a tow to their shop. Ended up paying them $750 to diagnose the problem over 3 days, a faulty water cooling pump for the inverter. They estimated cost to fix at $4300. Paid to have the tow to our mechanic. His cost $760, diagnostic, replacement and inspection. He told me the computer code diagnostic took less than 1 hour.

In order for us to repair a disabled vehicle correctly and guarantee the work we do, we must first properly diagnose the problem. It's an integral part of the due diligence process. Repairing vehicles solely based on the opinions of our customers or anyone for that matter who is not an automotive professional (whether they happen to be right or wrong) is bad business practice. It would be very unprofessional of us to conduct business this way due to the high degree of uncertainty and risk associated with this method. 54th Street Auto is a superb repair service. I’ve used them for more than 20 years.
Kevin, Richie, Brad and other staff are excellent, knowledgeable, friendly and expert. They are always complete in their service. I trust them always in their recommendations and advice. My car is a 2002 Toyota Camry that still runs well because of their help and service.

Michigander stuck in New York
I was impressed with the speed and thoroughness of the service. I'm from Michigan and was trying to get back home and their team was thoughtfully aware to do what they could to get me home in a timely fashion.
